Making classics fashionable…with Anne Klein

It's that time of the year…when wearing sequins and sparkle is not only acceptable but encouraged! For the anniversary party at the PAMM museum during Art Basel, I decided to wear this gorgeous sequin blazer with some basics (a simple white tee, coated jeans and black pumps).

Accessorizing such a statement piece can be a little tricky. So I went for a delicate set from Ann Klein that captures two current trends in jewelry: tricolor (rose gold, silver, and gold), and the stackable look. The bangles and watch look great together, but can be easily paired with other pieces!

Even though, the Ann Klein set retails for around $150; Amazon is having a fun sale that runs from 12/3 to 12/16; where you can get the set 25% off using the promo code WATCHES25 at checkout. Hurry and click here to take advantage of this sale, it's a great gift for someone special (or yourself). XOXO

______

¡BESOS!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014…BEAUTY EDITION!

$

I don't know how and when, but THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!! You know what that means…Christmas Shopping!

So this year, I decided to do a couple of gift guides.  I’m going to start with a BEAUTY EDITION!! …why? Because they are the easiest gifts to give (and receive), you don’t have to worry about sizes, and everyone will feel extra glam with these ideas!

1. A neutral eye shadow palette: every girl needs a variety of nudes and browns to create every day makeup.
2. Makeup brushes: a girl can never have too many makeup rushes- and we always need to replace them. This set is also super cute.
3. A nail-lacquer set: some brands sell them as sets but you can also pick three fun colors that remind you of your mom/sister/friend and put them in a cute Christmas box…and there you go your own perfect trio.
4. Fragrances are my all-time favorite gift for the Holidays. Perfumes always remind me of a certain time of my life; and the Holidays are the perfect time to try a new one and create fun memories with it.

My recommendation for this season: Calvin Klein Euphoria; it is the perfect gift to give and receive this Holiday season. First of all, the bottle is gorgeous- I am going to put it on my side table as a décor too, it was inspired by an orchid about to bloom and the sensual curves of a woman’s body. The scent was also inspired by the black orchid and its sexy and exotic notes…the end result: a mysterious, yet feminine fragrance that has become my ultimate favorite.

5. A clipless curling iron: if you (or a friend) do not have this magical tool…get it!! This is the type of curling iron I use and I love how natural the curls  I get with it.
6. Lip pencils/Lipsticks sets: just like I recommended for the nail polishes, get a few that remind you of the person you are giving the gift to, put it in a cute box (or makeup bag, see the next bullet), and that's it!
7.A makeup bag: not sure what to give for your Secret Santa? a makeup bag will do the trick!
8. Lip butter candy cane.

Did you already start shopping for the Holidays? I haven't yet! Share more beauty gift ideas on the comment section below!

Disclosure: this post was made in collaboration with Calvin Klein Euphoria. All opinions are my own and this post has not been edited by a third party.

Holiday Gift Guide: For Fitness Lovers…with Athleta...

As I've told you, this year, I decided to do a couple of gift guides. For the second gift guide,  I'm partnering with Athleta for a fun gift guide for fitness lovers. This one is one of my favorites because everyone makes fitness goals for the new year…so why not keep your friend/mom/cousin/sister (or yourself) motivated to do so with a great gift that she will actually use.

1. Fun print workout tight ($74): I love working out in black tights, but I like this technicolor print in B&W that is still as versatile as a regular black tight. It works for almost every workout activity and the quality is A-MA-ZING- always invest in high quality workout clothes that will last for years.

2. Training Shoe ($80): what are New Year's resolutions without a good workout shoe? These are super cute (love the aqua-purple combo); and they give you a barefoot sensation that is perfect for running and for gym training.

3. Insulated Water Bottle ($28): if you have a friend that's a hiker or does Bikram Yoga , she/he is going to really appreciate this one. Because of its technology, this water bottle can keep water cold for 24 hrs or hot for 12 hrs.

4. Sprint Watch ($45): this watch is perfect for runners; it has a stopwatch, 10-lap memory and countdown timer- and the price point is great too!

5. Plus Tech Hoodie ($64): if it's freezing where you live, this hoodie is a great idea to keep warm during winter training. The material is not bulky at all, so you can layer more if needed.

6. Sport earphones ($30): I like listening to music while working out but my earphones always fall off; these are designed to never fall because of their small size (AND they are water/sweat resistant)

7. Seamless Racer Bra ($46): sportsbras do not have to be boring; adding a pop of color underneath your tank is a great way to keep your workout wardrobe fun.

8. A yoga mat ($38): this gift is especially great for yogis but it is a great gift for everyone with healthy goals for 2015, no matter their fitness level or activity- we all need to stretch out, right?.

9. Spring Tote ($79): talking about yoga mats, this tote not only helps you carry your yoga mat easily on top, but it has two internal compartments and a removable shoe bag….so no excuses to head to work after your workout session

10. Stripes Hidden agenda Tank ($64): this top is a no-brainer; the back detail and the stripes add a little bit of a fashionable vibe to any workout outfit while also providing great support.

Are you ready to start 2015 with the right foot? What would you gift a fitness lover? Share with us in the comments!

Ps: check out Athleta.com for tons of gift ideas for fit fanatics, you can create wish-lists online. Also you can head out to Athleta's Lincoln Road store for some Holiday shopping !

Disclosure: As stated, I have partner with Athleta for this post. All opinions are my own, all products were curated by me and this post wasn't edited by third parties.

With the sweet @NatyBaby from A Love Affair with Fashion

With our wedding photographer, the AH-MA-ZING Julia from Darling Juliet

I can officially say that my wedding lasted at least three days and it went by SO fast. I cannot imagine how fast I regular wedding goes by. We had so much fun…you have no idea! I just felt so loved and grateful…our friends and family are just THE BEST.

I wore this the day after the wedding; we hanged out by the pool and the beach..there was a fun lazy river we headed to…we went karaoke…the games were endless (yes I have some crazy friends that have games for everything).

Right now, I'm just day dreaming and wishing we were there again…with my pineapple shirt on and a piña colada on the hand!

____

I have to admit that I have been wanting to wear this look for months and months…I thought about it in the middle of the summer (when I was wearing these pants a lot) but obviously it was always too hot for it. However, last week we got a cold front…and it was perfect!! The turtleneck sweater is so versatile but at the same time it is a statement piece. The plaid pants are one of my favorite bottoms…I have featured them on the blog a couple of times but I have worn them SO often for lazy/comfy days. This is it for today because this is my last week of the semester and I'm a little behind (let's blame the wedding planning…but I'm finally catching up) XOXO

:) ¡BESOS!

Time for Holiday…with Kenneth Cole

There’s something so special about the Holidays; I moved to Miami 8 years ago and I always go back home for Christmas.  Being away from home has taught me to really appreciate the little moments I get to spend with my family.  I also really enjoy doing Christmas shopping for them…I love finding a unique (but also affordable) gift that says “this reminded me of you”.

Watches are always a great gift during the Holiday; they are thoughtful and show you care but at the same time you don't have to worry about the fit or the size. They also fit into a stocking and they are easy to take with you if you are traveling (like I always am during the Holidays). Kenneth Cole watches (like the one I’m wearing in this post) are a great option. The have a great variety of styles for women and men. The price-point is also great ($65-$250), this watch looks very expensive but it's affordable enough to make it the perfect Holiday gift.

Back to the outfit; I have been wearing these coated pants very frequently lately…they go with everything. This time I paired the pants with a light blue trench coat and some killer heels. Finally, I just added the cat eye sunglasses and the Kenneth Cole watch

Art Basel Recap…with COACH AND NYLON MAGAZINE!

Miami definitely changes during Art Basel…there’s a different energy around town that is very hard to describe…the art, the music, the people, the fashion..inspiration  is everywhere. Getting from point A to point B is nearly impossible because of the traffic- but when you get where you want to be, it’s all worth it.

The first day I headed with my Coach Bridget sunglasses to the PAMM Museum; this  iconic waterfront museum opened last year and it’s GORGEOUS. There’s also a beautiful park by it where you can look at the Miami bay. To celebrate their first anniversary; the museum had a party featuring the first U.S performance by Future brown. Also, the museum was open to the public, and we decided to also check it out!

The next day we really wanted to go to Wynwood; so we head there before it became CRAZY. I love Wynwood’s laid back and cool vibe;  to match this vibe I added my Coach sunglasses to walk around the graffiti streets. We entered a couple of galleries, had yummy ice cream, and saw the coolest way of transportation…A BUG!!

The last day we finally went to the Convention Center; where you can find 250 of the world’s leading galleries. There were so many amazing pieces of artwork that I cannot choose my favorite! Hope you liked the photos and this mini recap! To see more on Art Basel check out NYLON.com

My Experience in Los Angeles with Cosmo & Toyota

In the middle of October, I was in Los Angeles for just two nights…and I can finally share what I was doing there. On THIS POST, I shared the first part of this campaign with Cosmo En Español & Toyota…where we did an advertorial. Now the second part was even more fun because I got to travel to Los Angeles!!! I've never been to LA before so even though it was for a couple of days, I can't wait to go back.

The flight from MIami to LA is around 6 hours; radon why I got to LA extremely tired and ready to go to sleep (nobody wants to go to a shoot on the next day with raccoon eyes!!).  I actually got there super early, before the whole crew…but I hate thinking that people have to wait on me. The shoot was at the photographer's place…which is ALL white and ah-ma-zingggg; it also has a fantastic view of LA! I got my hair and makeup done..and then the hairstylist arrived with tons of options (sadly I'm always to short for anything!! ohh the downside of being petite). I ended up with this cute outfit..a peplum leather skirt and brocade crop-top.

We started with pictures, Joh Russo, is fantastic; he has shot many celebrities and he said " we are done"in about 5 minutes!! Then it was the turn of Delia de La Vara…while they were shooting her, I was stuffing my face in the best quinoa I've had! Later on it was my turn to do the questions we did on the magazine but on video. It's crazy how many takes you always have to do; we did 3 per question per location… I cannot imagine how long it takes to do one of those super long trilogies. When we wrapped up, I headed to the hotel to chill for a bit and get ready for another long flight…I went to NYC straight after that!!

Check out Cosmo En Español and this fun collab with Toyoya!!

_____

Stories...

And since today's post is called stories (obviously inspired by Kelly Osbourne's collection called "Stories". So here are some random Thursday stories:
- First, I'm super excited..as you can see I'm wearing a Dolce & Gabbana mini bag. It's my first time collaborating with such an important brand and you have no idea how excited I was when I got an email with a subject line "Instagam campaign with D&G". I have talked about this before, I never want to get lost in this industry but at the same time, this is part of growing and evolving as a blogger. PLUS just thinking that big brands are looking at what I do, is just INDESCRIBABLE.
- I'm also wearing a gold cuff from Prima Donna; which is part of a Holiday gift set I curated for the brand. The three items doesn't have to be worn together but they are great pieces that everyone should have and they make for a great gift **GET THE GIFT SET HERE*. You can also use the promo code NKGIFT10 on ShopPrimaDonna.com to get 10% site wide.
- I'm also juicing (the delicious juices are from Cold Pressed Raw) and I'm starving right now…I shouldn't be but  the feeling is part of the detox.
- My living room is such a crazy mess right now (Gabe wants to kill me). I'm packing, planning outfits for the Holidays & organizing Christmas gifts…yes, the mess is not normal!

HAPPY THURSDAY! XOXO

________

¡FELIZ JUEVES! XOXO

Nasty Gals About Town

This time, I'm joining Nasty Gal and a group of sweet girls for their regular series of "Nasty Gals About Town" where we show a little bit of the city we live in.Ccheck out the Party edition lookbook we were in by clicking here.

As you know, I live in Miami since 2006 (yeah time flies) but I'm really happy because I've seen this city grow culturally. For many years I lived in Doral, a suburban area that's very family oriented (you can also read between lines, a little boring). However, I moved to the growing Downtown Area two years ago and we love it here! We are close to the Beach, the port, Brickell, Midtown, Wynwood, etc. I also saw a huge change on the blog because of the move; Downtown gives another angle…we always find corners that do not look like Miami…like this one. I know MIami is all about palm-trees and beaches, but it is also a huge city full of restaurant, bars, shops, art, etc.

So here are a couple of my favorites:
- To eat: my all-time favorite is Ceviche105 (I could eat there every day- try the Ceviche Pucusana and the Lomo Saltado). We also really like Ibachi Grill- a thai place with the best chicken pad thai.
- For entertainment: if you love art, head to PAMM (Perez Art Miami Museum- the view of the bay is gorgeous too). Also check out the Adrienne Asrsh Center and concerts or Heat games at the American Airlines Arena.
- For icecream: we recently found Ecolo Pops- they even have vegan options!!

XOXO

_________

¡Besos!

I've had this look for so long in my desktop ready to be published!! Originally, I was going to upload it the day of our wedding (november 28th); but I was so busy in Punta Cana (having fun of course) that I didn't even update the blog while I was there.

Vanessa and Austin wore these outfits during Coachella and I saved them because I thought they were "interesting" and I had a similar dress. Months later, Gabe got some pants that fully resemble his pants…so we decided to do it. We never get anything specifically for a look on the blog- we always recreate something if we already have it. We also adapted their outfits to make it our own (less Coachella, more real life). I kept googling to see where their pieces are from and it was extremely hard. I only saw that Vanessa's dress cost over $280 (mine is around $40).

I hope you liked it! And leave links to looks or celebrity couples you would like to see us do!
XOXO

_______

BESOS

Holiday Hairstyle Idea with TRESemmé…the Braided Do

I know I have said it a couple of times, but I can’t believe how fast this year went by. I have been sharing some Holiday outfit ideas…so why not also share some HAIRSTYLES- Hello an outfit is not complete without the right Hair & Makeup.

This hairstyle is basically the elegant cousin of the milkmaid braids…it’s extremely easy to do and you will look GORGEOUS at any Holiday party

What you will need:

Step-by-Step tutorial:

1.  Start by prepping your hair with dry shampoo. My all-time favorite is TRESemmé Fresh Start Voluminizing Dry Shampoo; it will give you texture and refresh your hair. Let it absorb the oil for a couple of minutes and comb through. **You can also check out my step-by-step tutorial on how to use Dry Shampoo by clicking HERE**

2. Divide your hair in two sections like you are doing a half- ponytail. I also left out my long bangs to pin them.

3. Start teasing the top half of the two sections; while also smoothing the top.

4.Using bobby pin, pin the teased section.

5. Now let’s move on to the lower section; do two braids and secure them with tiny clear elastics.

6. Pull the left braid to the right side of your head and secure it with bobby pins. Do the same thing with the other braid

7. Finally, spritz with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra HoldHairspray for a flexible hold that will help your hairstyle last all night long during the Holidays.

Would you try this Holiday hairstyle? Share your photos with us if you do.

I hope you enjoyed this “how to”. For hairstyles and hair tips, check out TRESemmé’s YouTube and Facebook Page.

Vamp in plaid...

You all know how obsessed I am with burgundy…I used to think my favorite color was purple, I guess not anymore! My favorite way to add this color into my wardrobe: LIPSTICK! For years, to create a dark color I mix MAC's Rebel lipstick with a dark brown lipliner underneath. However, I found this one which is the exact shade I have been looking for ages…it's from John Russo. He is the photographer that shot me in LA during the Toyota and Cosmo shoot but he also has a beauty line with lipsticks and nail polishes. In the middle of the shoot, he gave me this one- which is called VAMP and it's my new favorite!

Taking advantage of Miami's perfect weather, I wore this outfit (which I have to admit I also wore it in Las Vegas on our free day during the Latin Grammys). The B&W plaid shirt is actually Gabe's…I like stealing his oversized plaid shirts, I don't know why. Finally I added a gray sweater to stay in the palette of B&W and grays.

I'm in Venezuela for the Holidays (first time as a married lady). The Internet has been a little terrible so please excuse me if I'm MIA on Instagram. XOXO

It's the day before Christmas…and to celebrate, I have teamed up with DailyLook for an amazing Christmas giveaway happening on Instagram right now!! More details below.

On the last day of Christmas, Daily Look gave to me, their exclusive. Follow @DailyLook on Instagram and enter their contest at http://bit.ly/1BrSiAj  for your last chance to win $100 gift card and to enter the $1000 grand prize. This ends TONIGHT! GOOD LUCK!!

We had so much fun shooting this look, we love the location! It was actually a little cold that day and I was freezing with my bare back exposed.  I'm obsessed with this low back and the halter neckline- plus the fit silhouette makes it very flattering on the bottom for any figure. I hope you are already with your family or loved ones, getting ready for one of my favorite nights of the year <3

BESOS!!!

Holiday Hairstyle Idea with TRESemmé…the Bow half updo

Hey everyone! I’m so happy for all the great feedback I received on my first Holiday Hairstyle idea…and I hope you like this one as well.

So when I think Holiday, I think presents- and BOWS! So I decided to do a fun half up-do with a bow…perfect for the Holiday and NEW YEARS EVE!!

What you will need:

Step-by-Step tutorial:

1.     Start by applying a voluminizing mousse like TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Mousse before blowdrying your hair. It will instantly boost your hair’s volume. You can do your hairstyle with straight, wavy or curly hair. I curled mine with a wide curling iron to give my hair some texture.

2.     Take a section from each side of your hair; remember that the bigger these section are, the bigger the bow you are doing.

3.     Using your small elastic, tie the two sections you just grabbed like you were doing a half ponytail; however, don’t pull the ends through the elastic, that way you are creating a loop.

4.     Split the loop you just created in two loops.

5.     Spread out the loops with your fingers and insert a bobby pin while pushing them flat…you are doing the bow shape!

6.     Remember the ends you didn’t fully push through the half pony? Use them to hide the elastic and complete the bow. Secure them with bobby pins.

7.     Make your bow shiny and smooth using TRESemméKeratin Illuminating Shine Spray…. and you are ready to go!

I want to see you trying this cute bow hairstyle. Share your photos with us if you do.

I hope you enjoyed this “how to”. For hairstyles and hair tips, check out TRESemmé’s YouTube ).

Hey everyone! I'm in Venezuela! We had a fantastic Christmas with my family in the mountains…I'll share more pics soon (for sneak peeks, check out my Instagram @nanysklozet). I wore this royal blue skirt last week but I paired it with a white blouse, some white heels, and a pink bag…very SPRING! However, I like the idea of transitioning summery pieces into fall…so I added some thigh high boots and a jacket! I also wore this blouse when traveling to Venezuela…so expect to see it soon! I can't believe how much I've worn this boots recently…love them!

Hope you are having a great time! XOXO

¡Hola!

I'm back in MIAMI!!! Even though I'm excited to be home, this is my first time just spending a week there. Now we have to go to Puerto Rico to spend New Years with Gabe's family… #marriedlife!  I love PR, so I'm definitely excited about that!

I took this look with me to Venezuela. My family lives in a city called Mérida, which is in the mountains and it is a little cold. I ended up not wearing this because…guess what? We got super sick! It wasn't Chicungunya in case you were wondering haha but we did have fever (and the cold weather felt 1000 times worse). I spent two out of our five days in Merida in bed- in PJs…my biggest attempt to get dressed was workout clothes! But we do have pics from the other days, I can't wait to share them!

This look kind of reminds me of my high school days…even though, I went to a catholic school and the poor nun would have had a heart attack because of the length of the skirt.  She would have also sent me to the bathroom to remove all makeup. We wore knee length navy skirts with some high *ugly* socks with loafers and a burgundy sweater.

Even though I hated my uniform,  it was so easy to get dressed every morning…I love fashion but that feeling of not caring what you are wearing is refreshing from time to time.  Do you have an "adult-uniform?  I think I just throw a cute skirt, top, and third piece + booties when I don't know what to wear. XOXO

¡HOLAA!

BESOS!!
