This was the day version of one of the outfits I wore during Miami Swim Week; at night, I swapped the gladiators for the highest heels I own. I'm so tiny that I feel like that I like wearing very high heels at events (especially when there are a lot of models around). Yes, I know.. I wish I was taller- it's no secret. I really liked the print of this dress; it can easily transition from day to night…how would you wear it? XOXO

Siento que soy tan pequeñita, que en eventos con modelos tan altas…tengo que ponerme a la par jaaja. This was definitely the best day at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim- especially because I got to spend a lot of time with fellow blogger friends. My day started at a Tory Burch brunch, were we got to preview their Resort 2015 collection. After that, I stopped by the TRESemmé suite to get my hair done by Marco Peña, TRESstylist. Since it was so hot out, my main request was: please something up and out of my face. He was inspired by the Dolores Cortez hairstyle he did the night before… it was one of those from the runway to the real way. He even added actual gold wire in my hair…it was definitely fun. After that I headed to the Escape Miami and I went to the Wildfox pool party; where I got to see most of my blogger friends. Before the runway shows, we were getting hungry so Karla, D'ana, Gabo and I headed to Huahuas to eat some tacos. I finished the day with the Mara Hoffman show, which was absolutely breathtaking. So yes, it was a busy but fun day..and this post is definitely picture heavy! Hope you are having a fantastic Sunday. XOXO

El sábado pasado fue definitivamente el mejor día, en mi opinión, de la Semana Swim en Miami- especialmente porque pasé mucho tiempo con mis amigas bloggeras. Empecé mi día en un brunch de Tory Burch- ahí vimos la colección Resort 2015. Después de eso, pasé por la suite de TRESemmé para que Marco Peña, estilista de TRESemmé, me peinase. Lo dejé experimentar con mi cabello pero como hacía tanto calor, lo único que le pedí fue algo recogido. El se inspiró en el peinado que le hizo a las modelos en la pasarela de Dolores Cortez; usó hasta el mismo metal dorado! Después de eso pasé por Escape y por una fiesta de Wildox. Ahí nos dió hambre y nos fuimos a comer tacos en Huahuas (100% recomendado, nunca había ido). Y finalmente terminé mi día asistiendo a la pasarela de Mara Hoffman; un show increíble..como siempre! Como pueden ver, fue un día ocupadísimo pero de esos divertidísimos también. Espero que estén descansando y disfrutando su domingo. ¡Besos!

I'm sure I have mentioned this before but here it goes…my favorite part of Swim Week is spending time with the bloggers- it feels like a fun reunion…and more than fellow bloggers, we have become friends. My Swim Week Sunday started with brunch with TRESemmé and all the bloggers; everyone got cool hair-dos and we were ready for a hot day. I asked for a crown braid…I love braids for humid days because my hair is extremely frizzy. After eating and talking for hours, we headed to an event with the magazine Allure- I have no idea what was going on…but everyone just ended taking outfit pictures there. Later we went to a pool party…but more on that tomorrow, I have so many cool pics from the pool party that it makes more sense to show them to you separately. That day I had to head back home early to do grad school work. so I basically didn't dress for the show- just comfy for the pool party (swimsuit underneath and everything). I have been wearing my gladiators a lot lately; first because I have to wear them a lot before they go out of style and because they give a little pop of something to a simple look. Mi parte favorita de Swim Week es disfrutar con las bloggers- casi nunca estamos todas en el mismo sitio. Y como les he comentado, no solo somos compañeras sino que también nos hemos convertido en amigas. El domingo de Swim Week empezó con un brunch con TRESemmé; donde nos peinaron a todas…y comimos riquísimo. A mi me hicieron una trenza tipo corona, porque una vez más…el calor estaba insoportable y las trenzas siempre ayudan con el frizz. Después de comer y hablar por horas, nos fuimos juntas a un evento con Allure; estuvimos ahí un rato para después irnos a una fiesta en la piscina…en la que tomamos mil fotos así que quise separar este día en dos posts. Ese día lo que quería era estar cómoda- como tenía que regresar a la casa a hacer trabajos de la universidad como todos los domingos, no pude ir a las pasarelas…por eso solo utilicé un vestidito apropiado para la piscina y fresco para el calorón. Se que he estado usando muchísimo mis sandalias gladiadoras, pero hay que aprovechar que están de moda… y también le dan un toque chevere a cualquier look sencillo. ¡Espero que hayan disfrutado las fotos…les deseo una feliz semana!!

¡No hay nada como sentirse fresca y chic todo el día! Hoy les muestro mis esenciales matutinos para empezar el día con el pie derecho!

1. Jugo verde; ultimamente he estado comiendo más frutas y vegetales…y tomar un jugo verde en la mañana es la manera perfecta de empezar tu día un poco más saludable.

2. Un perfume tipi roll-on; a mi me gusta tener uno en la cartera de manera que puedas reaplicarlo en cualquier momento durante el día.

3. Ropa interior linda; siempre digo que cuando usamos ropa interior bonita (este set en degrades es espectacular), nos sentimos más seguras de nosotras mismas.

4. Lentes de sol para disimular nuestro cansancio u ojeras.

The swimwear brand WET organized a pool party for the fashion bloggers- and as you can see, we are all wearing WET or course. Originally we weren't sure about getting IN the pool; but it was so hot, that we jumped on the pool as soon as we got there. I think people around us thought we were crazy because we were taking pictures every two minutes. The bottom part of my bikini is either low nor high waisted…but I folded it a little bit to make it look like a booty short! Hope you are having a great week! XOXO

Originalmente no sabíamos si nos íbamos a meter en la piscina, pero hacía tanto calor…que ni lo dudamos al llegar allí. La parte de abajo de mi traje de baño no es totalmente a la cintura pero me gusta porque si la bajas un poco parece estilo "short" y puedes ajustarlo a los lados. ¡Les mando un abrazo gigante!!

Last Sunday, I attended a shopping event with Melao called Fashion Happy Hour. This shopping event happens every month in different locations around Miami; there, fashionistas and boutiques get together to shop, enjoy live music, and network. El domingo pasado asistí junto a Melao a Fashion Happy Hour; un evento que se realiza en diferentes lugares en Miami en donde tiendas, marcas y fashionistas se reunen para comprar y disfrutar de música en vivo y bebidas. Last Thursday I was so excited to attended the "If I Stay"'s advance screening with Refinery29 and Warner Bros. Pictures. Not only I got to meet the star of the film, Chloe Moretz, but it was amazing getting to introduce her to the audience. Nobody knew she was coming to the screening, and it was great seeing everyone's reaction. Chloe is also a sweetheart, she is only 17 years old but she is very mature!

As many of you know, the film is based on the best-selling novel by Gale Forman… and it's definitely one of those movies that will make you teary-eyed. I don't want to say much about the movie because I don't want to spoil it…but I absolutely LOVED it.

El jueves pasado fui coanfitriona junto a Refinery29 y Warner Bros. Pictures en el pre-estreno de la película "If I Stay". No solo tuve la oportunidad de conocer a la protagonista de la película, Chloe Moretz, pero también la presenté en el cine. Nadie sabía que ella iba al pre-estreno, y todo el mundo estaba extremadamente sorprendido. Chloe es una dulzura, y todavía no puedo creer que solo tiene 17 años…¡¡es bastante madura para su edad y hermosa!!

Como muchos sabe, la película es basada en el libro de Gale Forman… y definitivamente es de esas películas que te van a poner el corazón chiquitico. No quiero contarles mucho de la película porque siempre cuento de más…pero ME ENCANTO!

Hey ladies and some gentlemen! One of my favorite trends this summer is "matchy-matchy" sets. They look amazing together but you can wear them separately too. This time, I wore a matchy-not-so-matchy set from Style Mafia…I guess it's mixing prints AND a fun set. I wore this loo during Swim Week but that day was raining like crazy and we had to retake them. ¡Hola chicas y, algunos, chicos!! Unas de mis tendencias favoritas este verano son los sets matchy-matchy (de mi estampado o tela). Me encantan porque son un 3 en 1..puedes usarlos por separado o juntos. Esta set no es del mismo estampado..al contrario: es como mezclar estampados Y usar un set…lo que lo hace más divertido. Este look lo utilicé durante la Semana de la Moda Swim en Miami. Pero ese día estuvo lloviendo como nunca y tuvimos que volverlas a tomar una días después. This summer has been extremely hot and humid, so the big question is: How do you stay fresh all day?
Today I’m sharing a couple of tips on how to stay fresh throughout your day.

1) Shower in the morning: I love showering in the morning because it really wakes me up instantly. Use soap or body wash with your favorite fragrance.

2) Apply lotion: You can get a scent that matches your body wash. Lotion will keep your skin soft and supple throughout the day.

3) Apply perfume: Dab in key areas like your neck, wrist, behind the knee and under your arms. You can also get a roll-on or travel-sized spray bottle of your favorite perfume so you can bring it with you in your purse or bag.

4) Stash it in your purse: Always on the run? It's a great idea to buy a travel-size deodorant and carry it with you (or leave it in your car). If you don't have time to wash your hair, use dry shampoo.

5) Stay hydrated: Always have a water bottle with you and try to drink at least 8 cups of water a day.

6)All day long beauty: If you want your makeup to last longer, apply a foundation primer and an eyeshadow primer. After you are done with your makeup, mist a setting spray all over your face. If you are feeling a little shiny or oily, use a translucent powder or some oil-absorbing sheets.

7) Simple tricks: Use white eyeliner on your bottom lashes to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. To look young and fresh, don't forget to apply blush on the apple of your cheeks. At night, never, never, never go to sleep with your makeup on. Use a makeup remover and a night cream.

Finally... remember that your best accessory is your smile.

Este verano ha sido extremadamente caluroso y húmedo…la pregunta es: ¿cómo mantenerte fresca todo el día? Hoy comparte algunos tips para lograrlo:

1) Ducha en la mañana: a mi me gusta ducharme en la mañana porque me despierta rápidamente. Usa un jabón con fragancia.

2) Aplica un poco de crema: si lo deseas, puedes comprar una que tenga la misma fragancia de tu jabón. Las cremas dejan tu piel suave y sedosa todo el día.

3) No olvides el perfume: aplícalo en areas claves como tu cuello, muñecas, y detrás de las rodillas. A mi me gusta tener un perfume estilo roll-on en la cartera.

4) Hablando de carteras: si siempre estás fuera de casa, es buena idea tener un desodorante pequeño contigo (puede ser en tu carro). Si no tienes tiempo de lavarte el cabello, puedes utilizar "dry shampú".

5) Mántente hidratada: lleva contigo una botellas de agua, e intenta tomar al menos 8 vasos diarios.

6) Para que tu maquillage dure todo el día, aplica un primer de base y uno para la base. También puedes utilizar un spray fijador de maquillaje.

7) Truquitos extra: usa un delineador blanco en tus pestañas inferiores para que tus ojos se vean más abiertos y despiertos. Usa un poco de rubor en tus mejillas para verte más joven y saludable. Nunca te acuestes a dormir con tu maquillaje puesto, no importa lo cansada que estés.

Lo más importante es recordar que tu mejor accesorio es tu sonrisa :)

Lately I feel like I'm in a "black & white" mode…everything I want to wear/get are neutrals…am I the only one going through this phase? This time I'm wearing a black top from A'GACI with a net detail around the neck; I also really like how the model is wearing it on the site…it also looks great with boyfriend jeans. This time I paired it with a texture trumpet white skirt for a special night out. This skirt silhouette is a great alternative to the classic pencil skirt…it looks modern and it's way more comfortable. **Btw I just checked and the skirt is on sale for $8!!** I think my favorite item from this look is the phone case; it has the shape of a retro perfume bottle and it comes with a chain so you can wear it on your shoulder (this is especially great if you always loose your phone inside your big bag). Ultimamente no se que me pasa, lo único que quiero utilizar son colores neutrales…¿les ha pasado lo mismo últimamente o soy la única? En esta ocasión estoy utilizando una camisa negra con un detalle de malla; que puede combinarse con jeans para un día casual o con una falda para una cita o cena especial. Combiné la camisa con una falda estilo trompeta blanca; esta silueta me encanta, es como la versión juvenil (y más cómoda) de las faldas rectas. **acabo de revisar la página de A'GACI, y la falda está en rebajas por solo $8!!** Mi pieza favorita de este look es el "forrito" del celular, es como si fuese una botella de perfume y viene con una cadenita…de manera que puedes llevarlo al hombro (especialmente si eres de esas que pierde el celular adentro de la cartera a cada rato). ¡Les mando un abrazo grandísimo!!

¿Qué look es tu favorito?

I got to be honest…some days I wish my boobs were a little smaller. I feel like most tops look better on small busts…including this type of bralettes. I ended up having to add another black bralette underneath just to keep everything where it belongs haha. I originally wanted to wear the plaid top with a black leather skirt…but I stopped myself before wearing another B&W outfit. Instead, I wore it with a burgundy faux-leather skirt... I got this skirt around two years ago (maybe even more), and I'm glad I still have it…I've worn it so many different ways ( I think I did a remix once and I had to update it afterwards). I added the denim shirt around the waist; just in case I could wear as a shirt if I felt uncomfortable or cold.Also, I'm sorry if I have been wearing these booties too much…they are so comfortable and they go with everything! Actually it's one of those sorry but not sorry moments; my blog has always been about rewearing your clothes and I don't want to loose my essence.

¡Tengo que ser honesta…hay día que me gustaría tener el busto más pequeño- especialmente porque hay muchos estilos de camisas/tops que se ven mejor cuando tienes pocos. Tuve que agregar otro bralette negro debajo del de cuadritos para que nada se moviera de su lugar maja. Originalmente quería usar este top con una falda de cuero negra pero me dije a mi misma que no podía hacer otro look totalmente blanco-y-negro. Así que agregué un poquitín de color con esta falda color vino de cuero sintético; esta falda la tengo desde hace 2 años (tal vez hasta más tiempo), pero todavía me encanta! La he usado de tantas maneras que he tenido que actualizar el remix dos veces. Quise agregar la camisa de mezclilla en la cintura por dos razones; una me pareció que iba bien con el look grunge y dos, así la podía utilizar si me daba frío o si me llegaba a sentir incómoda con el bralette. También me disculpo- y al mismo tiempo no- por estar usando tanto estos zapatos y sombrero… repetir siempre ha sido la esencia de mi blog y quiero mantenerla siempre. ¿Cómo usarías este top? ¡Abrazos!

¡Las tengo demasiado abandonadas aquí en el blog! Hey everyone! How are you? In Miami, it’s been so hot and humid that I want to have my hair up and away from my face all the time. So I decided that the next tutorial should be a twist on the regular top bun…A FISHTAIL TOP BUN!

What you will need:

- A hair tie- preferably similar to your hair color.

- Bobby pins.

- Hairspray (Recommendation: TRESemmé Extra Hold Hair Spray)

- Mousse (Recommendation TRESemmé Thermal Creations Mousse)

Step-by-Step tutorial:

1) Prep hair by applying mousse into damp hair. TRESemmé Thermal Creations Mousse will give you control and flexible fullness - making it easy to style any way.

2) Use a hair dryer to smooth hair back and to get rid of any natural parts.

3) Pull hair back into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic.

4) Braid the ponytail like a fishtail braid and secure with an elastic at the end. (For some extra fun and a bigger bun later, you can also divide the ponytail into TWO fishtails to play around with)

5) Open the braid with your fingers

6) Wrap the braid around to create a bun; secure the bun using bobby pins.

7) Finally, spritz with TRESemmé Extra Hold Hair Spray for a flexible hold.

8) Extra tip: apply a little of hairspray in a toothbrush to tamed baby hairs and flyaways**

¡Hola a todas! ¿Cómo están? En Miami ha estado haciendo tanto calor que quiero llevar el cabello recogido todo el tiempo. Pero me cansé del típico moño…y se me ocurrió compartir con ustedes esta variación….¡con cola de pescado!

Lo que necesitas:

- Una colita- preferiblemente que sea del mismo color de tu cabello.

- Horquillas.

- Laca para el cabello (Recomendación: : TRESemmé Extra Hold Hair Spray))

- Mouse (Recomendación: TRESemmé Thermal Creations Mousse)

Paso a paso:
1) Aplica un mousse en tu cabello húmedo. TRESemmé Thermal Creations Mousse no solo protege del calor sino también te da control para peinar tu cabello de la manera que desees.

2) Usando un secador peina tu cabello hacia atrás, así le das forma a tu cabello.

3) Haz una cola de caballo alta.

4) Trenza la cola de caballo haciendo una cola de pescado (Si quieres que el moño se vea más grande, puedes hacer dos trenzas en vez de una).

5) Abre la trenza para darle más volúmen.

6) Haz un moñito e utiliza las horquillas para aguantar el moñito.

7) Aplica la laca TRESemmé Extra Hold para que el peinado te dure toda la noche.

8) Tip extra: utiliza un cepillo de dientes para controlar los pelitos chiquitos.

This light denim shorts have become one of my favorites lately. I still have some vintage levis that I wore for years (and they were featured dozens and dozens of times). But I really like these because the fit is a little loose and the wash is lighter. As you can see below, I have worn them mostly with edgier and more casual looks….it's like they were made to be worn with beanies and hats :)

Estos shorts de blue jean claro se han convertido en mis favoritos últimamente. Tenía unos vintage levis que utilicé por años (y que vieron docenas de veces); pero estos me gusta porque son un poco más "anchos" y por ende, más cómodos. De casualidad los volví a utilizar esta semana, pronto les mostraré como. Como pueden ver abajo, los he utilizado con camisetas y botas…definitivamente la mayoría de los looks son un poquito más edgy.

The other day I wanted to a "look for less/celebrity inspired" type of post…thanks for all the suggestions, I saved them all. One of the looks I really liked was this one from Kourtney Kardashian…with a striped dress and some cargo jacket. I tweaked the look a little, I don't have that kind of espadrilles and the backpack I had looked weird with the outfit….that's why I didn't put it side to side with Kourtney's look but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I also was bored that day and I started playing with some mint hair chalk (I ended up with some crazy green hands haha). I don't completely love the result…I prefer the lavender or pink…but tell me what do you think? XOXO (and keep sending me ideas for a fun "look for less")

El otro día les pregunté para hacer un look inspirado en una celebridad…me dieron muchísimas sugerencias (que por cierto las guardé todas!). Uno de los looks que vi por ahí fue este de Kourtney Kardashian usando un vestido de rayas y una chaqueta cargo….se puede decir que me inspiré en ella pero el look no es basado 100% en ella- por eso no puse las fotos y los precios para comparar estilo "look por menos". Ese día me puse a jugar con tiza de colores para el cabello…pero no se no me gustó mucho el resultado del verde. Parece que estuve todo el día en la piscina y el ombré se me puso verde por el cloro… ¿qué les parece a ustedes? Les mando un abrazo gigantesco y sigan dejándome ideas de looks para hacer un post inspirado en una celebridad por menos!!

Hey ladies! This September, Glamour is celebrating how women express their every day style, from coast to coast. I can’t believe I just said September… fall is approaching very quickly. I can’t wait to start wearing light layers- appropriate for the Miami weather of course. Today I’m wearing a fun floral skirt that easily transitions from summer to fall; you can wear it with sandals for the beach or with tights and booties during the colder months. I paired it with a military vest- I really like pairing feminine pieces with this vest…I feel it balances out the vibe of the look. Finally, I added some eyeglasses and my Jeff Koons x H&M bag- the shape is perfect for everyday but the gold balloon gives it a touch of glam.

From time to time, I wish Miami would get a little colder…in the meantime; I just started packing for New York Fashion Week- everyone says the weather will be perfect!

¡Hola! Este septiembre, la revista Glamour quiere celebrar como expresamos nuestro estilo con ropa. Hablando de septiembre, no puedo creer lo rápido que pasó el año. No puedo esperar para que el clima en Miami se ponga más fresco y pueda utilizar un poco más de capas ligeras- digo ligeras porque en Miami nunca se pone lo suficientemente frío. Hoy estoy utilizando una falda de estampado floral que fácilmente se puede usar en el verano y en el otoño; Esta vez la combiné con un chaleco militar ya que me gusta combinar piezas bastantes femeninas con este chaleco. De vez en cuando me gustaría que Miami se pusiese un poco más frío…pero por ahora, tengo que empezar a planear mis looks para Nueva York- todo el mundo me ha dicho que el clima va a riquísimo.

When I think of the term Americana, not only denim looks come to my head but also a free-spirited, sexy, and adventurous way of living. I’ve been saying I want to do a road trip for a while, I really want to visit new places in the U.S….and I’m not talking about the big cities. I want to venture into small towns, visit their old diners, and learn about their history.

Llevo diciendo que quiero hacer un viaje en carretera de costa a costa desde hace mucho tiempo. Más que conocer grandes ciudades, quiero visitar pequeños pueblos y conocer un poquito más de su historia.
