Your daily beauty regimen should be as simple as 1,2,3…we all have 1000 things to do in our daily lives but we don’t want to spend a lot of money and time in TONS of products.
Last month, I stopped by the Clinique Beauty Counter at the Miami International Mall and I got a full consultation where a skin expert recommend a certain group of products according to my skin needs, problems, and concerns. For the past 3 weeks, I’ve been using the routine she recommended and I wanted to share it with you with some extra tips in order to get the best results.
For skin-care, she recommended Clinique 3-Step System, which features a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer for different skin types. There’s a regimen for four Skin Types: 1. Very Dry to Dry , 2. Dry Combination, 3 Combination Oily, and 4. Oily. They also have a specific line for acne and two collections for men.
Since my skin is dry, but I’ve had acne in the past…I fit in more than one category.Reason why she recommended the following products as my 3-Step System.
1. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap: oil skin formula (for combination oily to oily skin types):
A cleanser is the most basic step of your skin care routine- it helps remove the dirt, the makeup, and oil. I was a little worried that the soap will dry out my skin but since I used it with products designed for dry skin, it was perfect. This cleanser has a liquid soap consistency, and it lathers very nicely. The product says it’s 100% fragrance free; but in my opinion, it smells “clean” (not sure if that’s the right adjetive for a smell, but you all know what I mean). Even though, this product is good enough to remove makeup too. I recommend using a makeup remover (especially in the eye area, which is more sensitive).
You can apply the soap with your hands but I recommend 100% the Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush- it makes the cleanser even more effective with its sonic movements. How to use it? Massage in circular motion for 15 seconds on cheeks using the white bristles and then 15 seconds on T-Zone with the green bristles.
2. Clinique Clarifying Lotion (for dry combination skin)
Just like the cleanser, you apply this product twice a day (after waking up and before going to sleep). This product gently removes all the remaining dead cells and impurities after using the cleaner. This toner is amazing; with just one use my skin felt softer and I feel my pores look smaller. It does have a tingling sensation, but nothing major- and I read that it means that it’s working…nothing to worry about.
And the last step of the 3-Step-System is moisturizing!! I have some acne scars I’m very self conscious about…my skin consultant recommended the Clinique Even Better line for that- and specifically the Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer for dry skin. I was reading online that it works because the ingredients break apart surface darkening and the SPF prevents more damage….and you all know I love 2-in-1 products (well, this one is more like a 3 in 1: moisturizes, brightens skin, AND it has SPF 20).
See? It’s okay to mix products from different collections in order to fit your specific needs.

Nuestra rutina de belleza debe ser tan fácil como 1,2, 3...todas tenemos mil cosas que hacer en nuestro día a día que no hay tiempo (ni dinero) para usar MUCHOS productos al día.
Como les conté en un post anterior, el mes pasado tuve una consulta en el booth de Clinique del "International Mall" y me recomendaron ciertos productos de acuerdo a mi piel. Pueden ver el artículo completo haciendo click acá. Las últimas 3 semanas he estado usando los productos que me recomendaron y quería compartir con ustedes mi reseña y unas recomendaciones extra para obtener los mejores resultados.
Para el cuidado de la piel, me recomendó "Clinique 3-Step System", el cual incluye un limpiador, exfoliante, y crema hidratante. Hay 4 régimens de acuerdo a tu tipo de piel: desde piel muy muy seca hasta muy grasa. También tiene una linea para tratar acné y dos colecciones para hombre.
Como mi piel es muy seca pero tuve un acné severo hace un par de año, entro en más de una categoría. Por eso me recomendó los siguientes productos como MIS tres pasos:
1. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap: oil skin formula (para piel grasa):
El jabón limpiador es el paso más básico y esencial en tu rutina; ayuda a quitar el maquillaje y todas las impurezas del día a día. Al principio estaba preocupada de que este jabón me fuese a resecar la piel ya que esta diseñado para pieles más grasosas....pero al usarlo con productos para piel seca, fue la combinación perfecta. La consistencia de este jabón es bastante líquida pero hace espuma. Aunque el producto dice que es 100% fragrance free (es decir que not tiene olor)...en mi opinión si tiene un poco de olor...pero huele más a "limpio". Este producto lo puedes utilizar parece quitar tu maquillaje, pero yo personalmente te recomiendo usar un desmaquillarte (especialmente en la zona de los ojos, así previenes las arruguitas).
El jabón lo puedes aplicar con tus manos pero te recomiendo al 10)% que utilices el Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush. Este aparato hace la limpieza sea más profunda con unas pequeñas vibraciones. ¿Cómo se utiliza? Masajes suavemente en círculos por 15 segundos en las mejillas con las cerdas blancas y en la nariz y en la frente con las cerdas verdes.
2. Clinique Clarifying Lotion (para piel seca)
Al igual que el jabón, este producto lo puedes utilizar dos veces al día (al despertar y antes de acostarte a dormir). Este producto termina de remover todas las células muertas y las impurezas. Este producto me encanto, con solo usarlo una vez sentí mi piel más suave y mis poros más pequeños. Si sientes un poco de hormigueo con este producto, no te preocupes... ¡en todos lados dice que es porque está funcionando!
3.Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer (para piel seca)
Y el tercer paso es siempre mi favorito...me encanta sentir mi piel hidratada. Durante mi consulta, le conté a mi experta que tengo unas cicatrices de acné que me encantaría que desaparecieran. Me recomendó la linea Even better (que empareja las machitas de la piel). A mi me encantan los productos que tienen muchos usos: y este esta diseñado para mejorar las machitas, pero al mismo tiempo hidrata y tiene protector solar... ¿qué más se puede pedir?
¿Ven? Mezclar productos de diferentes lineas para satisfacer las necesidades de tu piel.
