Also, Gina Dearing and Osira gave us the best makeup tricks to highlight our brilliant smile. ¡Hola chicas! ¿Cómo están? Como les conté en el video de “Mis 5 tendencias favoritas esta primavera”, soy una de las Chicas Blogueras de Colgate® Optic White® (junto a la hermosisima Kika Rocha de “De Tacones y más”. Estoy sumamente emocionada por esta alianza porque Colgate es una marca que llevo usando desde que era muy chiquita y nunca ha faltado en mi casa. Hace un par de semanas, tuve mi primer evento junto a Optic White para ver el episodio final de Nuestra Belleza Latina. Me terminé llevando un collar estilo gargantilla, que definitivamente me encantan esta temporada (supongo que me recuerda un poco a mi infancia). También estaa Gina Dearing y Osira aplicando labiales y contándonos que colores resaltan más nuestra sonrisa. TIP TIP: para que tus dientes se vean más blancos busca labiales con undertones o matices azules. This kimono is definitely one of my favorite pieces…I had to triple check because I was sure I had done a remix with it before (maybe I've worn it even more times that the ones pictured on the blog). But I'm really happy about how this looks..there's a little bit of everything: shorts, pants, dresses, jumpsuits, swimsuits…and hats, turbans, textures, prints, etc.

My favorite is the one with the swimsuit because it was such a fun post (more editorial-ish) to do…but now it's your turn to tell me…which is your favorite?

Este kimono ME ENCANTA…no estaba segura si ya había hecho un REMIX, porque de verdad siento que lo he usado más veces de lo que ha salido en el blog. Este remix me gusta mucho como quedó por su variedad- y eso que no lo planeé. Hay looks con pantalones, shorts, vestidos, jumpsuits y trajes de baño…con sombreros, turbantes, diferentes texturas y colores.

Mi favorito creo que es el look del traje de baño porque fue un post más editorial que es de mis favoritos…¿qué look es tu favorito?

I wore this on Friday for a quick event with Sally Beauty Supply where I had to take an IG takeover for them. The concept was very cool; they have a truck with 750 polishes go around different cities of the use and they give FREE manicures. I wanted to get it in a nude polish but I went for a metallic nude for a fun touch. Since the weather is a little unpredictable lately (some days are too hot, and then there is a cool breeze other days); I wore a lace romper and I had a faux-leather vest in hand. I kept it simple with my favorite cat eye sunglasses, tons of silver midi rings, and a touch of color with this bag. Have a great weekend! XOXO

Esto lo utilicé ayer Viernes para ir a un evento de Sally Beauty Supply donde tenía que tomar unas fotos para el IG de ellos. El concepto es súper cool, lleva un camión lleno de pinturas de uña a diferentes ciudades de USA y hacen manicuras gratis. Yo quería algo nude pero para hacerlo más divertido, agarré una color metálica. Como el clima está un poco impredecible (días muy calientes pero con mañanas frescas); usé este romper de encaje y tenía a la mano un chaleco de cuero sintético. De resto agregué accesorios plateados (muchos anillos midi), y una cartera con un poco de color. ¡Les mando un abrazo grandísimo!!

The weather in Miami this weekend was pure perfection…which means BEACH TIME! It’s great when you can find a complete head-to-toe look in one place, and I was excited to partner with Lord & Taylor to get everything I need for the start of summer!

At the beach, you can never go wrong with a denim shorts + kimono + swimsuit combo. I loved the color of this bikini from Marc by Marc Jacobs. I think bandeaus are extremely comfortable and flattering for my bust size. You can easily wear this look to eat by the sea and then take your shorts off to walk around the beach with just the kimono. This BCBGeneration kimono has a cool distressed mosaic print so you could even dress it up with a cute white dress and heels. Lately, I’ve been wearing white denim shorts even more often than the regular blue jeans…they go with everything and they scream, “I’M READY FOR SUMMER”!.

If you are thinking about a new pair of sandals this summer, go for white soled sandals! I found this Vince Camuto pair at Lord & Taylor and I loved the metallic strap…it takes summer sandals to another level! Also, a summer look is not complete without a hat but you all know how much I love hats! I’m obsessed with this Kate Spade straw hat that has ladybugs embroidered on it…how adorable!

Este fin de semana, los días en Miami estuvieron espectaculares… ¿saben lo que eso significa? PLAYITA!! Y mejor cuando tenía un look veraniego completo (de pies a cabeza) de Lord & Taylor por estrenar.

Cuando voy a la playa, yo siempre opto por esta combinación porque me parece muy cómoda: shorts + kimono + bikini. Mi traje de baño es de  Marc by Marc Jacobs. me encantó el color y el estilo bandeau es muy favorecedor para chicas con un busto como el mio.Este look lo puedes utilizar para ir a comer cerca de la playa; y luego te puedes quitar los shorts para caminar en la playa. Este kimono de BCBGeneration es una belleza, me encantó el estampado…aparte lo puedes usar con un vestidito blanco y tacones para una noche romántica (me imagino una cena con el atardecer de fondo de vacaciones). Ultimamente he estado utilizando denim shorts blancos (en vez de los clásicos azules) porque van con todo y son más veraniegos.

Si estas pensando invertir en un par de sandalias para este verano; busca unas que tengan la suela blanca (están muy de moda!). Yo encontré este par de Vince Camuto pair en Lord & Taylor  pero me gustó como tienen una tirita metálica. Finalmente, un look de verano no está completo sin un sombrero…bueno yo y mis sombreros.  Este de  Kate Spade se va a convertir en mi favorito; tiene mariquitas rojas…díganme si no se ven tiernísimas.

Two weeks ago, I attended an event called “Divinas y Humanas” thanks to Jergens and John Frieda. This event commemorates women in entertainment who have positioned themselves as very important figures in the Hispanic business.

My day started at a suite at the Conrad Hotel with Jergens, John Frida, and a fab group of bloggers: Carmen from Viva Fashion, Astrid from Latin Blah, Romina from My Life Mi Vida, and the Diario de la Moda Team. We got a little spoiled by John Frieda Celebrity Stylist Sebastian Scolarici and Millie Morales. Millie is a celebrity makeup artist- definitely one of my favorites, she is truly an artist and a makeup genius (that should be her title). Then Sebastian did my hair in a low ponytail with a little bit of volume; I like asking for hairstyles that I wouldn’t (or basically can’t) do myself. My favorite product was the John Frieda Frizz Ease KeraFLEX Flexible Hold Hairspray because it kept my ponytail brushable and very soft.

After getting dressed, we were surprised by the winner of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2014, Aleyda Ortiz (who was also a Divinas y Humanas winner). She shared with us tons of beauty tips and Millie showed us how to get her look.  “It’s key to achieve an effortless look for any occasion,” says Millie. “That’s why I rely on Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream for flawless-looking skin.” Below see the steps to get Aleyda’s look. 

1      To prepare for this event, Aleyda started usingJergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream a week in advance. In just five days, this cream instantly hydrated, illuminated, evened, firmed, and minimized the appearance of imperfections. “As soon as I started using Jergens BB Cream, my skin instantly felt moisturized and luminous,” said Aleyda.

2      To match Aleyda’s beautiful skin I matched a foundation. Then I used a translucent powder to seal the foundation. To build her face, I used a contouring technique and highlighted her cheekbones and a few areas of her nose. I made sure to highlight her cheek bones with an illuminator with silver tones to match her beautiful gown.

3      For her eyes, I combined cold tones like violet and silver shimmer and created a smokey nude eye. I call it that because instead of an eyeliner I used a shadow pencil on the edges of her eyes to give them more dimension and depth. For her eyebrows, I applied a cream gel with an angled brush, since she was attending an event this will last longer than a powder. When applying the mascara, I wiggled the mascara from the root to the end to create volume and avoid clumps. I recommend applying three layers of mascara to maximize volume.

4      For the lips, I applied a nude lip liner to keep color intact around her lips and then used a shimmery lip gloss in a nude tone to keep a natural look.

5      To finish her look, I used a light pink blush. I recommend smiling and applying on the apples of the cheeks.

6      Right before heading to the red carpet, Aleyda applied BB Body Cream on her legs and arms to be camera ready! 

She also told us how she inherited her love for beauty and fashion from her grandma and how she loves supporting Puerto Rican designers (she is from Puerto Rico, of course!). Then we were almost ready…why almost? We all put a little bit of Jergens BB Body Creamon our arms and legs (just like Aleyda…because hey we wanted to look as radiant as her). For my look, I went for a fringe skirt with a simple crop top…I’m all about fringe lately and I wanted that to be the main statement (besides my glowing skin!). We had a blast at the event; I loved seeing familiar faces all together. There was also a cute beauty bar where the winners of the awards could get some touch-ups! It was a great day and I feel so grateful with Jergens and John Frieda for considering me for this opportunity. Hace dos semanas tuve la oportunidad de asistir al evento de Divinas y Humanas junto a Jergens.

Mi día comenzó en la suite de Jergens y John Frida en el Hotel Conrad junto a Carmen de Viva Fashion, Astrid de Latin Blah, Romina de My Life Mi Vida, y el equipo del Diario de la Moda. Ahí nos consintieron al maquillarnos y peinarnos para el evento de Divinas y Humanas. La hermosa Millie Morales me maquilló, ella trabaja con muchísimas celebridades y es de mis favoritas…hace magia en cuestión de minutos. Luego me peinó Sebastián Scolarici- como siempre, le pedí algo distinto para no verme como me veo siempre en el blog. Me sorprendió con una cola de caballo baja con un poco de volumen.

Luego llegó la ganadora de Nuestra Belleza Latina 2014, Aleyda Ortiz quién también recibió uno de los premios de Divinas y Humanas. Tanto Aleyda, como Millie estuvieron compartiendo con nosotros sus tips de cuidado de piel y maquillaje para verse increíble esa noche. Millie nos cuenta "es clave obtener un look sin esfuerzo para cualquier ocasión.Por eso confío en Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream para obtener una piel impecable."

1. Para prepararse para este evento, Aleyda comenzó a usar Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Creamcon una semana de antelación. En tan sólo cinco días, esta crema hidrató al instante, iluminó, uniformó, y minimizó la aparición de imperfecciones. "Tan pronto como empecé a usar la crema BB de Jergens en mi piel, al instante la sentí hidratada y luminosa", dice Aleyda.

2. Para coincidir con la hermosa piel de Aleyda, empecé con una base igual al color de su piel. Luego usé un polvo traslúcido para sellar la base. Para su cara, utilicé la técnica de contorno, destacando sus pómulos y algunas áreas de la nariz. Me aseguré de iluminar sus pómulos con un iluminador con tonos plateados para que coincidiera con su hermoso vestido.

3. Para los ojos, combiné tonos fríos como el violeta y plata brillosa para crear un ojo “desnudo” ahumado (nude smokey eye). Yo lo llamo así porque en lugar de un delineador de ojos uso un lápiz de sombra en los bordes de los ojos para darles más dimensión y profundidad. Para las cejas, apliqué una crema de gel con un pincel angular; ya que ella va a un evento, esto le durará más que un polvo en las cejas. Al aplicar el rímel, lo apliqué de las raíces de las pestañas hacia afuera para crear volumen y evitar montones. Recomiendo aplicar tres capas de rímel para maximizar el volumen.

4. Para los labios, apliqué un delineador de labios nude para mantener el color intacto alrededor de sus labios y luego utilicé un brillo de labios en tono nude para mantener una apariencia natural.

5. Para finalizar su look, utilicé un rubor rosa claro, recomiendo sonreír y aplicar en las manzanas de las mejillas.

6. ¡Justo antes de dirigirse a la alfombra roja, Aleyda se aplicó BB Body Cream en sus piernas y brazos para estar lista para la cámara!

                  Aleyda también nos estuvo contanto como heredó de su abuela lo coqueta que es y nos contó de sus diseñadores boricuas favoritos. Después de una linda charla, ya estabamos casi listas. ¿Por qué casi? Antes de salir todas nos aplicamos BB cream en el cuerpo para vernos igual de radiantes que Aleyda. Yo utilicé esta falda de flecos con un crop top y unos zapatos negros. La pasamos muy lindo en el evento, vi muchas caras conocidas y el lugar tenía una vista espectacular a Miami.  En pleno evento pasamos por una hab de Jergens/John Frida, donde estaban retocándo a las ganadoras de los premios de Divinas y Humanas.  Fue un día increíble y me siento muy agradecida con Jergens por la oportunidad. I realized this season I don't feel spring at all. I refuse to let go of my plaid prints and my dark lipsticks. But whatever, I always say that you should wear what you feel like wearing and not what you think you should wear. I wore this last week to have dinner with my dad who was visiting. We went to a cute little place we like called Lemoni; the food feels very homemade and they have the best salmon + quinoa saad.

Right now I'm at the Dallas airport waiting to board the plane. We had such an amazing time in Dallas that we were too exhausted to even look at the computer when we got to the hotel. I brought these pieces to my trip so you will see them in different outfits soon! XOXO

Me he dado cuenta que estoy muy poco primaveral últimamente…me rehuso a dejar mis estampados tartán y mis labiales oscuros. Pero como les digo siempre,no se trata de tendencias…usa lo que quieras usar siempre! Esto lo usé la semana pasada para ir a comer con mi papá que estaba de visita por acá. Fuimos aun sitio que se llama Lemoni, es pequeñito y muy casero. Si van, les recomiendo el salmón o la tilapia con quinoa. 

Ahora mismo les estoy escribiendo desde el aeropuerto de Dallas, esperando por nuestro vuelo que sale en un ratito. La pasamos tan espectacular que llegábamos cansadisímos al hotel y ni abrí mi computadora…por eso estuve un poco desaparecida! Me traje estas piezas a este viaje, así que pronto las verán en otros looks.¡ Les mando un abrazo grandote!

“My nights are for overthinking and my mornings are for oversleeping”

That quote basically summarizes my terrible sleep patterns.  I regularly go to sleep very late because that’s when I feel the most productive and the most creative- I answer emails, edit photos, brainstorm ideas, write, etc. Even though I work from home and I’m lucky enough to get my beauty sleep, some days I have to work early and I need a little something-something to feel (and look) refreshed in the morning.  So I’ve been trying to come up with an easy routine to tell my body “it is time to rest”.

El otro día leí una frase que decía: "“My nights are for overthinking and my mornings are for oversleeping”- la cual más o menos se traduce a que paso mis noches pensando demasiado y mis mañanas durmiendo demasiado.

Y esa frase básicamente refleja mis patrones de sueño. Usualmente me acuesto muy tarde porque es cuando me siento más productiva y creativa; respondo emails, edito fotos, pienso en nuevos post, escribo, etc.  Aunque me siento muy afortunada de poder trabajar desde casa y poder dormir hasta la hora que quiera, hay días en que tengo que despertarme muy temprano-  y necesito alguito para sentirme y verme fresca la mañana siguiendo. Por eso, estoy intentando esta rutina que le diga a mi cuerpo "es hora de descansar".

I have a feeling I should be a little more organized with these remixes…it would make moe sense if this would come out in the middle of FALL. But hey, let's pretend I'm like the fashion shows that show one season ahead of time. And maybe it can inspire some girls that live in the South Hemisphere where it's getting cold right now. This sweater is SO comfortable; reason why I basically wore it for casual/cozy occasions…I wore it a lot to school too (where they always have the a/c like it's the north pole in there).

Whoop whoop! Guess who was featured in Glamour Magazine talking about my favorite Neutrogena products to achieve healthy glowing skin this Summer!? Yes, this girl!But a couple of quotes were not enough; I want to share 10 quick tips on how to get that sun-kissed glow we all want this upcoming season!

1) Do you want healthy glowing skin? The first step is never going to sleep without makeup. Sleeping with our makeup up clogs our pores- which causes acne and premature aging in the long-run .I have the Neutrogena Natural Wipes besides my bed to make sure I remove all dirt and makeup before going to sleep.

2) Drink more water…we have all heard it before, but do we actually do it? Nowadays, we have no excuses; there are event apps that remind us to drink water based on our height and weight. Just a quick reminder: water helps clear the toxins that cause inflammation and blemishes. Doctors recommend at least 8 glasses of water…so let’s stay hydrated from the inside out and increase our water intake.

3) I know we all want bronzed skin during the summer; but it’s very important to always wear sunscreen… even if it’s just for a quick errand. Wearing sunscreen does not only prevent skin cancer, but it also prevents brown spots, skin discolorations, red veins, blotchiness, and premature aging skin. 4) Clean your makeup brushes. I’m a little bit guilty in this department, and I know I’m not the only one. Brushes and sponges collect bacteria that cause breakout. ¡QUE EMOCION!! Miren quien sale en la revista Glamour este mes…esta señorita que esta aquí! En el advertorial les cuento de mis productos favoritos de Neutrogena . Como un par de oraciones no son suficientes, quise hacer este artículo con 10 tips para lograr una piel radiante este verano

1) Si quieres una piel radiante, el primer paso es NUNCA acostarte a dormir con maquillaje. Al dormir con base tapas tus poros- lo que causa acné y envejecimiento prematuro a largo plazo. A mi me gusta tener las toallas de Neutrogena "Natural Wipes" al lado de mi cama para que ni me de flojera de "tener que ir al baño"; estas me encantan porque remueven todo el maquillaje en cuestión se segundos.

2) Toma más agua…si si, todas sabemos que debemos tomar más agua ..pero ¿lo hacemos? Hoy en día no hay excusas, hay hasta aplicaciones en el teléfono que te mandan alertas para tomar la cantidad adecuada de acuerdo a tu peso y altura. Les recuerdo que el agua ayuda a eliminar las toxinas que causan inflamación y barritos. Los doctores recomiendan al menos 8 vasos de agua…así que a mantenerse hidratadas!!

3) Todas queremos ese look bronceado durante el verano…pero no podemos olvidarnos del protector solar, así sea para hacer una diligencia. Usar protector no solo ayuda a prevenir cáncer de piel, sino también previene las arrugas, manchas, venitas rojas, etc. Una opción genial ya que es muy ligera y no tapa los poros es el protector  Neutrogena Ultra sheer Dry Touch Broad Spectrum.

4) Limpia tus brochas de maquillaje. Yo admito pecar un poquito en este departamento… y se que no soy la única (te veo!!). Las brochas y las esponjas tienen bacterias que causan acné. Solo mezcla un par de gotas de tu limpiador facial favorito con agua en un potecito, y gira la brocha hasta que remuevas todo el maquillaje. Haz esto antes de dormir de manera que se puedan secar al natural durante la noche.

5) A mi me encantan los productos todo-en-uno. No me gusta tener que usar muchos productos y quedar con capas y capas de productos. 6) Para tener una piel saludable y radiante, no es solo lo que aplicamos pero también lo que consumimos. Aparte de tomar agua, debes comer saludable y balanceado. En tu dieta no deben faltar las proteínas y los vegetales. Para merendar te recomiendo las nueces ya que son geniales para mejorar la elasticidad de la piel y reducir la inflamación.

7) No te olvides de tus ojitos. La piel alrededor de nuestros ojos es más delgada y sensible. Yo estoy encantada con el  Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye porque hidrata hasta mil veces su peso en agua. Yo tengo la piel sensible en esta zona y este producto no me lo irrita para nada.

8) Siempre nos cuidamos mucho la cara…pero ¿ y nuestro cuerpo? Lately, I feel like I was bitten by the travel-bug. Life is short and there are so many places to visit and explore. My bucketlist of “places to go to SOON” (the soon part is definitely wishful thinking!) includes London.

I want to cross the pond and wear stylish clothes by the Big Ben clock… hey a girl can dream! So in the meantime, I’m going to just wear a stylish trench and a chic fedora and feel like a Double Agent. All double agents needs a secret weapon…mine is and has always been my long lashes. Since I was little, people always complimented them. Ultimamente creo que me pico el mosquito de la viajadera. La vida es muy corta y hay tantos lugares por conocer y explorar. En mi lista de sitios por ir PRONTO (la parte de "pronto" es así como tocando madera para que pase pronto).

Last month I was in NYC with GUESS to shoot a video with some of my favorite bloggers…now it was our turn to show you how each of us do our respective cities. I was very excited to shoot around Miami with GUESS.

Palm trees, art deco buildings, classic cars…this is Miami! I’ve been living in Miami for almost 9 years (wow, time does fly by) and I absolutely love this city! The idea behind this video was to showcase how I take my look from day to night…from enjoying the sun and sand at South beach, to walking around Ocean Drive, and to a night-out with friends at Española Way.

I was wearing this aqua GUESS bikini underneath my dress; which I paired with a fringed kimono at the beach (kimonos are my favorite type of cover-up!). Then for the night look, I just switched my comfortable black sandals for some fringe heels and I added a statement necklace…ready for drinks with the girls!

 What did you think of the video!? I’m loving it and I had a blast (it was my first time driving a scooter, and I want one so bad now)! Now, it’s time to head out to watch Lo’s video in Manhattan, Luanna in Brooklyn, and Marianna in Los Angeles!

El mes pasado fui a Nueva York a hacer un video junto a GUESS y un grupo increíble de bloggers…pero ahora es nuestro turno y cada una les esta mostrando un pedacito de nuestra ciudad. Me encanto poder grabar en Miami..y ojalá les guste el video.

Palmeras, edificios estilo art deco, carros vintage…¡esto es Miami! Ya llevo viviendo en Miami por casi 9 años (wow el tiempo vuela) y adoro esta ciudad. La idea detrás de este video era mostrarles como transformo mi look del día a la noche…. de la playa en South Beach, a caminar por la famosa calle de Ocean Drive, y luego para salir con amigas en otra calle llamada Española Way. 

Empecé usando un bikini de GUESS color aqua debajo de mi vestido; el cual combiné con un kimono de flores en la playa ( ya seguro se han dado cuenta que me gusta usar kimonos en la playa!). Luego en la noche, cambié mis sandalias por unos tacones con flecos y agregué un collar llamativo.

El video está al final de este pos…¡cuéntenme que les pareció! Fue una experiencia muy divertida (y confieso que fue mi primera vez manejando una motico, ahora quiero una). Finalmente las invito a ver el video de Lo en Manhattan, el de Luanna en Brooklym, y el de Marianna en Los Angeles! BESOS.

Today I'm joining GUESS (again! So excited to work with brands I've loved since I was little) to show you their Spring collection and two of my favorite trends for Spring/Summer. I'm really loving high-slit long tops; you can wear them with either shorts or leggings underneath PLUS they have great movement! I paired this top with some palm-tree print shorts (which is a huge trend too when it comes to prints)…I love the pop of palm trees when you get to see the shorts. I wore this to have dinner with Gabe and his little sister in the Miami Design District.

We all need a day to escape the stress and indulge outdoors….it doesn’t matter if it’s getting a mani, enjoying the beach, exercising…or all of the above!

This Summer, Escape with Hawaiian Tropic is an offline experience of pop up events in different cities, and last week I stopped by their event at the Loews Hotel in Miami! I needed a day to feel carefree and beautiful in the sun, especially after 4 flights in 6 days,.

I started my day with a fun, pink manicure and a massage. Then I headed to the beach with a green juice by Juice Press, my Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen, and an Elle Magazine; the day was absolutely gorgeous! Todas necesitamos un día para nosotras..escaparnos del estrés y disfrutar. No importa si es haciéndote una manicura, disfrutando de la playa, haciendo ejercicio…o mejor aún si ese día incluye todas las anteriores.

Este verano, Hawaiian Tropic está haciendo una actividad llamada Escape donde van a diferentes ciudades y realizan manicuras, masajes, dan clases de Yoga, etc. La semana pasada pasé por su evento en el hotel Loews en Miami. Siento que lo necesitaba…especialmente de una semana donde agarré 4 vuelos en 6 días.

Empecé mi día con un cambio de pintura de uñas rosada. Luego estuve un rato en la playa con un juguito verde, mi protector solar de Hawaiian tropic (por supuesto), y una revista Elle….aparte el día estaba espectacular.  Luego hice una clase que se llama barre/cardio; que es INCREIBLE…mezcla de todo un poco y les juro que ejercitas músculos que ni sabes que tenías.

Aunque me encanta el sol, también entiendo la importancia de cuidarnos y protegernos la piel. Les he comentado muchísimas veces en el blog que no salgo sin aplicarme un poco de protector solar; pero recuerden que es importantísimo reaplicarlo frecuentemente (los expertos dicen que cada dos horas es lo recomendable).

I have to confess than more than once I have not bought something because I couldn't wash it at home. I always try to look for pieces that will not get shrink or get damaged if I put it in my washer. Reason why I was so excited to hear about the Tide Washable Fashion Initiative. Tide Pods has partnered with actress and model Maritza Rodriguez to demonstrate washable garments can be fashionable…even on the red carpet.

Rodriguez sported a fully washable runway look from designer Giles Deacon, at the People en Español “Los 50 Más Bellos” Gala that took place this past Tuesday, May 12th in NY.  Deacon, who is also P&G Fabric Care’s Global Fashion Consultant , designed the innovative piece to resemble the look and feel of leather but constructed it with washable fabrics including lycra, polyester and nylon.

Through the Washable Fashion initiative, Tide and its Tide Pods are responding to the continuing demand for washable garments and increased consumer appetite for designer fashions and bringing a new approach to fabric care innovation to maintain all the sensorial attributes of clothes and improve their quality of life. In parallel, the program aims to educate and inform the fashion industry about the benefits and possibilities of creating more designer fashions using machine-washable fabrics.

Les tengo que confesar algo: cuando se trata de ir de compras, siempre intento buscar piezas que pueda lavar en casa... que no se encojan ni se dañen al meterla a la lavadora. Eso de estar llevando la ropa a la tintorería me parece una pérdida de tiempo y de dinero.

Por eso me encantó este iniciativa que tuvo Tide Pods al colaborar con la actriz y modelo Maritza Rodriguez para demostrar que la moda lavable es igual de espectacular...hasta en la alfombra roja.

Para la gala de los "50 más Bellos"en Nueva York el pasado 12 de mayo, la actriz utilizó un vestido de alta costura del diseñador Giles Deacon. Este vestido fue diseñado exclusivamente para Tide Pods y está hecho con una tela innovadora que parece cuero pero es licra, poliéster, y nylon. 

Hoy en día como mujeres, queremos piezas versátiles que podamos lanzar en la lavadora sin problema...y ojalá más diseñadores se unan a esta iniciativa de #ModaLavable.

Pero eso no es todo, voy a estar junto a un grupo de bloggeras (@BeChicMag, @Diariodelamoda y @LeauraLuciano) hablando de #ModaLavable por Twitter el 4 de junio a las 8pm EST. Hey everyone! How are you? I'm going to start doing something new… a 5 random things on Sundays and I hope you all share at least something random that's going on your lives.

1. We have been changing all the furniture in our apartment. Our apartment is really small,  I think it's the size of one of those "office closets" the bloggers do tours on. Now our bed has storage, our dresser has 8 drawers instead of 6…we changed the sofa for a sofa bed (which actually has storage too underneath!!). So now it fits two people, a dog, and all my clothes (insert the emoji of the monkey with its hands on its eyes!)

2. I finished grad school on March but I'm doing the ceremony on June. Honestly,  I don't feel like walking again… it's all for the parents, right?

3. I'm going to a music festival called Bonnaroo…have you head of it? I'm super excited, I'm going with a group of bloggers and I'm already planning my looks.

4. Well, I always say this but I want to do more celebrity inspired looks…all the ones that are regrettable are Kardashian/Jenner… and I honestly don't want to do them so often (actually, there's a Kendall Jenner one coming soon…but I did it a couple of weeks ago!)

5. I've been reading the book "gone Girl". I already watched the movie but I love getting to really know the character. Are you more of a book or movie girl?

¡Hola!! ¿Cómo están? A ver hoy quería contarles 5 cositas random y espero que ustedes también compartan así sea una conmigo!

1. Estuvimos cambiando toda la decoración de la casa porque necesitábamos espacio. Ahora tenemos una cama con gavetas debajo, nuestro neceser tiene 8 gavetas en vez de 6…hasta el sofá cama tiene espacio para meter cosas…jajaa es que esto de vivir con una "fashion blogger" no es fácil (aparte que Gabo tiene más zapatos que todos los hombres que conozco!)

2. Ya terminé la universidad (el postgrado) pero el acto es en un par de semanas. Honestamente no quiero…pero eso es siempre por los papás, para que se llenen de orgullo!

3. Voy en Junio a un festival que se llama Bonnaroo, ¿han oido de el? Estoy super emocionada y ya estoy planeando mis looks para eso.

4. Siempre les digo esto, pero quiero hacer más looks inspirados en celebridades…comenten abajo a quien les gustaría ver.

5. Ando leyendo el libro "Gone Girl"..ya vi la película pero a mi me encanta como en un libro llegas a "conocer" realmente a los personajes y todo lo que esta pasando.

This past weekend was a three-day weekend… which meant spending a little bit more time by the sun and almost-turning into mermaids. I live 10 minutes away from South Beach but I prefered to avoid the craziness and instead I stayed in my apt pool during the day. I only had to worry about two things: my swimsuit and my sunglasses. So here are two looks I wore this weekend. I didn't plan this but gingham and fringe are two of my favorite trends this season ( I've been talking about them everywhere)…so here they are, now as swimwear! I paired the fringe monokini with some mirrored aviators ( these are a must-have for summer). And I paired the gingham bikini with a cool pair of round sunglasses with a metallic touch. How was your weekend!? XOXO

Este fin de semana fue feriado…lo que significo disfrutar de la playa/piscina y casi convertirme en sirena.  Yo vivo a 10 minutos de South Beach…pero preferí quedarme en la piscina del apartamento y evitar la locura de la playa. Para esto solo necesité mi traje de baño y unos lentes de sol. Aquí les muestro dos looks, uno del sábado y otro del domingo. De casualidad (les juro que no lo planee), estos dos trajes de baño de GUESS tienen 2 de mis tendencias favoritas esta temporada: flecos y el estampado guingán.  El de flecos lo combiné con unos leyes estilo aviador espejo…perfectos para el verano. Y el de guingán lo combiné con unos redondos que tienen un toque de meta para darle una onda más moderna. ¿Cómo pasaron su fin de semana!? Les mando un abrazo grandísimo!

I guess I'm finally getting into the Spring/ Summer mood! For Summer, the palm tree print is such a fun idea… I love this jumpsuit from Desigual, I have been using it a lot.  To keep the summer vibe, I added a panama hat and some spadrilles. The final touch: the cutest elephant necklace from Daphna Simon… I love elephants, my family does too. I've been trying to convince my parents to get a tattoo elephant with me and my brothers….they don't say "no" anymore (that means a YES might come one day….it's okay to dream right?). But going back to the necklace…yes, check Daphna Simon- if you are an animal lover, you are going to love all the accessories. I wore this last week with my friends to go to the park and eat…we were just people watching and making jokes…perfect Monday? (it was Memorial Day!).  Wishing you a fun weekend! XOXO

Finalmente me siento un poquito más veraniega entre los posts playeros anteriores y estos.  El estampado de palmeras me encanta para verano…este jumpsuit de Desigual lo he estado usando muchísimo, es comodísimo y apropiado para el calor de Miami. Para seguir con la onda de verano, agregué mi sombrero panameño (que compré hace años en Puerto Rico y jamás pensé que iba a utilizar tanto) y unas alpargatas. El toque final: un collar lindísimo de elegante. Les cuento que llevo más de un año intentando convencer a  mis papás para que, junto a mis hermanos, nos hagamos un tatuaje de elefante. Ya no me dicen que no…y no me voy a rendir hasta que me digan que si jajaja.  Bueno, volviendo al collar…les recomiendo revisar la página de Daphna Simon, hay accesorios de muchísimos animales…les va a encantar. Esto lo utilicé el fin de semana pasado para ir a comer con un grupo de amiga y después fuimos a un parque…un "domingo" perfecto…digo"domingo" porque en realidad era lunes feriado pero pareció un domingo. Espero que tengan un bonito fin de semana. ABRAZOS!

-      This 5.2 acree urban green space was our first stop on our trip to Dallas and we were instantly in love with the city.  There were so many little things that make this park great: there’s a park for kids, food trucks with delicious food, books to read (for FREE!), and more. They even offer free activities every day like Yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, and Salsa. It connects Uptown, Downtown and the Dallas Arts District. Hello Miami! Time to step it up!!!

Hace un par de semanas fuimos a Dallas…quedamos enamorados de la ciudad! Nuestra primera parada fue el parque Klyde Warren Park. La idea de este parque me encanto…hay una zona para niños camiones de comida libros para leer gratis y más. También ofrecen actividades todos los dás como Yoga,  Zumba, Tai Chi y Salda. Este parque conecta lo que es Uptown,  Downtown,  y el "Arts District . No dejábamos de pensar que Miami tiene que ponerse a la altura!!! Poco a poco les iré mostrando más de Dallas…!BESOS!
